Grasses
Grasses provide a great vertical accent to the garden and the dried foliage adds winter interest. They are excellent for specimen planting as well as for mass planting. Taller varieties make excellent informal privacy screens.

Big Blue Stem
Flat leaves emerge gray to blue green in spring, mature to green with red tinges in summer & turn reddish bronze with lavender tones in autumn after frost. In late summer flowering stems arise bearing purplish 3-parted, finger-like flower clusters. Native to Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec & Saskatchewan.
Feather Reed Grass - Karl Foerster
A Ideal for accent or background plantings with its erect narrow habit. Spikes are reddish brown in spring and drying to golden and finally to buff in the winter.
Fountain Grass, Dwarf - Hameln
Mounding grass with fine textured foliage and distinctive buff flower spikes. Turns oranges and yellows in fall creating an impressive display.
Giant Silver Grass - Lottum
Vigorous ornamental clumping grass with yellow banding on the foliage resembling a giant zebra grass. Large showy reddish flower heads turn to silver in autumn.
Japanese Forest Grass - Variegated
Leaf blades are bright yellow with slender green lines. Forms a dense mounded clump that resembles a miniature bamboo.
Maiden Grass - Gracillimus
The finely textured foliage with white mid-vein and upright arching habit make this grass useful almost anywhere. Plumes are reddish pink turning beige with age.
Maiden Grass - Red Chief
Elegant masses of graceful arching green foliage maturing to shades yellow in fall. Abundant feathery panicles of maroon flower spikelets turning silvery-grey by winter.
Porcupine Grass
Variegated green and cream, bearing horizontal stripes along their stems. Noted for its very upright growth habit, reminiscent of porcupine quills. Plumes are a rich reddish bronze.
Switch Grass - Blood Brothers
Upright, slightly vase-shaped mound of green-blue leaves, the tips developing blood-red tones by midsummer then turning black-purple by autumn. Beautiful airy plumes look like diamonds in the sky.
Blue Eyed Grass
Clump forming grass with fans of narrow sword-shaped green leaves. Violet blue flowers with a yellow throat close up at night
Feather Reed Grass - Overdam
Variegated foliage is edged in white and turns a rich gold in the fall. Fast growing and very hardy.
Fountain Grass, Dwarf - Piglet
Produces compact mounds of narrow green foliage that are topped in the late summer by stems of showy, bottle brush plumes.
Japanese Blood Grass
Upright grass with intense red blades. Impressive in mass plantings as colour remains intense all summer.
Little Bluestem
Neat clump forming perennial grass noted for its blue summer foliage and bright fall colours. Excellent for massing or naturalizing as a ground cover. Native from Ontario west to British Columbia and east to Nova Scotia.
Maiden Grass - Dixieland
Densely tufted, dwarf maiden grass with arching variegated green leaves with white stripes. Plumes are reddish pink maturing to white.
Moor Grass - Moor Witch
Dense tufted compact plant with slender upright stems. Striking purple spikelets in midsummer followed by intense orange and red fall colours.

Tidy clumps of variegated green and white foliage. Neat clump forming perennial grass can be used as a ground cover.
